Preventive Care
At our office, we are concerned with all aspects of preventive care.
We use the most current light-cured sealants, resins which are bonded to the chewing surfaces of decay-prone back teeth, to protect your child’s teeth.
We can apply fluoride quickly, in the form of a varnish, eliminating the need for gels and trays. This fluoride treatment is beneficial to children and many adults for the prevention of cavities and for root sensitivity.
Cavity Prevention
Most of the time, cavities are due to a diet high in sugary foods and a lack of brushing. Limiting sugar intake and brushing regularly, of course, can help. The longer sugary or starchy foods remain in contact with the teeth, the greater the chances of getting cavities.
Every time you eat, an acid reaction occurs inside your mouth as bacteria digest the sugars. This reaction lasts approximately 20 minutes, during which time the acidic environment can destroy the tooth surface, eventually leading to cavities.
Tips For Cavity Prevention

- Use a fluoridated toothpaste
