Dental radiographs are invaluable aids in diagnosing, treating and maintaining dental health. Dr. Carbone carefully select when and which radiographs are taken, in accordance with certain guidelines. Radiographs allow us to see everything we cannot see with our own eyes. They enable us to detect cavities in between your teeth and to determine the level and health of bone. We also use radiographs to examine the roots and nerves of teeth, diagnose lesions such as cysts or tumors, and to assess damage when trauma occurs.
Our office utilizes digital imaging technologies which we view on a computer monitor. With digital x-rays, exposure time is minimal, about 50 percent less than traditional radiographs.
Digital imaging enables us to store patient images in our computer and to transfer them quickly to appropriate specialists or insurance companies.
